About Us

Our mission is to provide good food and help foster positive relationships to ourselves, each other, and nature. That's why we source only the finest grass-fed beef for our meat sticks, and it’s also why we give 10% of our profits to social good organizations.

The bigger the team, the bigger the impact.

Our team grows with each snack you buy.

You may not know you’re impacting the world when you buy our products. You may just want a delicious, healthy grass-fed beef snack—and that’s ok, we’re cool with that—but we need to tell you that you are also making the world a better place with every snack you buy. At Mission Meats, we give 10% of our profits to social good organizations. Your snacks fight deforestation in Haiti with BonZeb. Your snacks help Perspectives Minnesota transform the lives of homeless mothers and their children. Your snacks create leaders and entrepreneurs in Africa with Educate! Your snacks help support over 100 independent Dream Centers across the country.

So eat well and thank you for helping us make a positive impact on the world.

Educate! seeks to transform education in Africa to teach youth to solve poverty for themselves and their communities by providing youth with skills training in leadership, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness, along with mentorship, to start real businesses at school.

Educate!'s Vision for 2024 is to measurably impact 1 million students, and reach 4 million students more broadly, across Africa each year.

Founded in 1976, Perspectives, Inc. is  a multi-service agency that addresses our society’s most pressing issues: homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental illness, poor nutrition, and lack of access to services. Though these issues can have tremendous impact on both genders, Perspectives’ specific target population is mothers and their children.

Perspectives is the largest therapeutic supportive housing program for women and children in Minnesota, housing over 75 women and over 130 children annually. Our services are extensive and span from recovery and mental health programs for both women and children, to job readiness and parenting education. Perspectives is distinctive in that few, if any, other supportive housing programs provide in-house, 12-month, comprehensive out-of-school academic, social, and nutritional enrichment for the children living in the program.

Perspectives has 20 active board members, 28 full-time and 13 part-time paid staff, and a volunteer pool of over 100 active volunteers at any given time. In 2016, over 8,100 volunteer hours were provided to the agency through the involvement of over 500 volunteers.

Dream Center is a volunteer-driven organization that finds and fills the needs of over 40,000 individuals and families through approximately 70,000 encounters each month, with many accessing multiple services.

Dream Center does this through mobile hunger relief and medical programs, residential rehabilitation programs adults, a shelter for victims of human trafficking, transitional housing for homeless families, foster care intervention programs, job skills training, life skills, counseling, basic education, Bible studies and more. Dream Center works to meet people where they are at, to bring them hope and a way off the streets.

The Dream Center’s record of success has attracted urban missionaries and Christian leaders from across the U.S. and the world. As they volunteer, they gain insight and skills that they can take back to their own communities.

In this way, more than 100 independent Dream Centers have been launched nationally, as well as internationally. Many more churches and ministries have become more effective as the Dream Center teaches those who give their time and talent to do what we do. Many who once needed our services also go on to help others.

The Founders

Peter Awad
Co-founder

Peter Awad, a founder of numerous ventures—both successful and not so successful—wanted to produce a product that he was willing to feed to his wife Melissa and their four children, and then share that product with everyone else. In 2015, Peter collaborated with Nick McCann to create Mission Meats snacks to make terrific meat snacks and to help make a difference in the world.

Nick McCann
Co-founder

With a background in sustainable agriculture, Nick McCann is the innovator behind the development of the Mission Meat snacks. He’s traveled the world to make a difference in people’s lives, and is grateful to be able to create delicious snacks that make an impact.
